Sales Engineer

The primary focus of this position is to support customers with adopting and integrating our products. The SE is a key player in the sales cycle, providing excellent technical support from the pre-sales to the post-sales stage. This position is located in Washington, D.C. and requires an active Secret clearance.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • The Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for all technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the sale
  • SE's must be both sales focused and technically astute
  • They must be successful selling to the governmental sector of the technical merits of the Solera Networks solution
  • The SE will work, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Support and Product Managers to be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers
  • The SE will take ownership of the prime technical relationship with our pre-sales customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and via telephone

Required Skills:

  • 10 + years of enterprise class hardware/software selling experience to executives within government agencies such as DOE, NSA, FBI, CIA, DOD
  • Expertise in the area of IP networking
  • Experience with packet capture and analysis techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation and writing skills
  • Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, LANs and network infrastructure
  • Superior solution scoping abilities, using our existing solution and influencing new product development
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP and/or UNIX (Solaris, Linux, AIX) operating systems
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment with multiple roles, and demonstrate high emotional intelligence
  • Bachelor's degree is a must
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Previous consulting experience implementing enterprise class hardware/software solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of the IT asset management space
  • Active Secret clearance, prior military service
