CALEA Compliance Appliance
Solera Networks, Inc., the technology leader in network packet record and playback appliances, today announced the immediate availability of its CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act) appliance, designed to achieve compliance for the upcoming May 14, 2007 FCC mandate for lawful intercept support.
“The rapid evolution of technology has been a boon for global communications; however, it has brought with it challenges for law enforcement agencies to execute authorized surveillance,” said Terry Haas, CEO of Solera Networks. “As such, CALEA was enacted to help ensure law enforcement agencies have the ability to conduct electronic surveillance. It requires telecommunications carriers to have the ‘necessary surveillance capabilities’ readily available. The Solera CALEA Appliance removes the weight of these requirements with an elegant packet capture solution to capture, archive, and regenerate network traffic data with unprecedented ease of use.”
The 1U Solera CALEA Appliance is capable of capturing at OC12 data rates, has onboard storage capacity of 800 GB, and is designed to be deployed via a SPAN port or network TAP, allowing for streamlined and invisible network packet capture. Solera’s patent-pending TimeShift™ filtering and regeneration technology provides the ability to fulfill lawful intercept requests based on physical layer MAC addressing, Internet Protocol addressing, payload, or protocol types. The intuitive Command Center web console provides immediate and streamlined access to the appliance, enabling customized packet capture and regeneration on demand.
Used in conjunction with hundreds of commercial and/or open-source applications, the Solera CALEA Appliance enables flexible and complete CALEA compliance.
The Solera CALEA Appliance is available directly from Solera Networks or through Solera Networks’ Authorized Resellers with leasing options available. Please contact sales@soleranetworks.com or call 801-623-5714 or visit CALEA Compliance for more information.
