Security Veteran to Oversee South Pacific Expansion Efforts as Solera Networks Broadens its Global Presence
SYDNEY, Australia—August 29, 2012 — Solera Networks, the industry’s leading, best-of-breed Security Intelligence and Analytics provider, announced today that it has appointed network security veteran Charles Cote as managing director of its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) division. Sydney-based Cote will drive expansion efforts in Australia and New Zealand, focusing on identifying business opportunities, strengthening the channel program and broadening the Solera Networks customer base.
“We are extremely excited that Charles is joining our rapidly expanding team,” said Steve Shillingford, president and CEO of Solera Networks. “Charles’ proven managerial, leadership and business expertise in the security industry further strengthens our international presence and expansion in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Charles will help address the increased demand for our big data security analytics solutions and ensure that we are meeting the growing demand for comprehensive, real-time security intelligence.”
Cote has more than 18 years’ experience in the IT and network security industry, specializing in sales, marketing, operations and engineering. Prior to joining Solera, Cote was director of ANZ for Dell Wyse (formerly Wyse Technology), where he led the organization’s sales and engineering teams. While at FireEye, Cote spearheaded the company’s penetration into the ANZ market, launching distribution and channel programs and doubling FireEye’s local field organization through new customer engagements. As South Pacific regional director at Fortinet, Cote built the region’s sales team from the ground up, resulting in a 45-percent year-over-year growth since 2007. Cote also served as regional sales manager and country manager at Extreme Networks, where he achieved a solid track record, growing the business by 20 percent year over year.
“I look forward to leading the expansion of Solera’s big data security intelligence and analytics technology to enterprises and partners throughout the South Pacific region,” said Cote. “What attracted me to Solera was its passion for delivering an entirely new protection method — one that provides enterprises with complete visibility and situational awareness to any network security threat. In a threat landscape that is constantly evolving, Solera’s advanced persistent security delivers the kind of big insight and big intelligence needed to detect and see today’s advanced malware and zero-day attacks.”
