George Hoyem Joins the Solera Networks Board of Directors
October 21st, 2008
“Solera Networks, a provider of innovative network forensics solutions, today announced industry veteran and Managing Director of Blueprint Ventures, George Hoyem, has joined the company’s Board of Directors.
LINDON, UT—October 21, 2008 – Hoyem’s involvement speaks to the unique nature of and potential for Solera Networks’ technology in the burgeoning market for new network forensics solutions designed to support both physical and virtual environments.
“I think of Solera Networks as having a ‘TiVo®’ for the network that is in fact the only way to know the unknown when it comes to network security,” said Hoyem. “Since today’s leading security tools only identify known threats, companies need the ability to capture a complete record of their network traffic. This makes it easier to quickly identify and minimize the effects of the next unknown threats when they hit. Solera Networks has carved out a unique place in network forensics with platform agnostic solutions that complement existing security tools in both physical and virtual environments. This value proposition will become increasingly powerful in today’s troubling economy and threat environment as CIOs and National Security Agencies work to maximize and protect their current IT assets.”
Solera Networks will leverage Hoyem’s diverse technical expertise and longstanding history in starting, funding and shaping successful high-tech start-ups. To the Board of Directors, George brings over 20 years of entrepreneurial and operational experience in technology companies at various stages of growth; from Hewlett-Packard to Verifone, to numerous portfolio companies and his own start-up software company. At Blueprint Ventures, Hoyem focuses on corporate IP spinouts and start-ups delivering disruptive products to market.
“We’re very excited to have George on the team,” said Steve Shillingford, CEO of Solera Networks. “Not only is it a vote of confidence in Solera Networks’ standout network forensics offerings but it’s an excellent opportunity to leverage George’s years of successful investment and hands on operational experience.”
