Solera Networks Joins Industry and Federal Government Leaders in Collaboration to Defeat Advanced Cybersecurity Threatss

Salt Lake City, Utah—October 16, 2012 — Solera Networks, the industry’s leading Big Data Security Intelligence and Analytics provider, today announced that it has been selected as a SINET 16 Innovator. Solera Networks will showcase its Solera DeepSee platform during the 2012 SINET Showcase, being held on Oct. 25, 2012 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. – supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate. The Security Innovation Network (SINET) initiatives are designed to advance innovation and enable collaboration between the public and private sectors to defeat global cybersecurity threats.

Eighty emerging technology companies applied and were carefully vetted in a two-stage process by the SINET Showcase Steering Committee for the opportunity to present innovative and potentially disruptive cybersecurity solutions to an audience of representatives from defense, homeland security, intelligence and civilian federal agencies as well commercial, investment and research communities. Solera Networks will be one of 16 companies presenting on stage.

“Every year the quality of companies applying to present as a SINET 16 Innovator continues to impress the Showcase steering committee,” said Robert Rodriguez, chairman and managing principal of SINET. “Since 2010 we have received hundreds of applications in our efforts to advance innovation, lead change and build trusted global collaboration models between the public and private sectors to defeat cybersecurity threats. We are confident that by raising the awareness of Solera Networks and other finalists’ capabilities, there will be an enhanced opportunity to impact the most pressing technology needs of the Federal Government and private industry—and, ultimately, the protection of our nation’s Critical Infrastructure and Command and Control systems.”

Solera Networks provides the big data intelligence and analytics necessary to gain context, determine root cause, verify impact and mitigate security breaches and events. This visibility allows organizations to take the action necessary to limit risk to their infrastructure and data—whether in physical or virtual environments. The DeepSee platform monitors and records all network activity—classifying, indexing and storing every byte, packet, flow and file for real-time situational awareness, cyber threat detection, security assurance, data loss analysis, policy compliance and security incident response.

“In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, critical systems will continue to be breached, meaning swift response to, and preparedness for, advanced malware and zero-day attacks is more crucial than ever,” said Steve Shillingford, president and CEO, Solera Networks. “Solera Networks is honored to be chosen as a SINET 16 Innovator. This recognition provides tremendous validation for our continuous efforts to provide advanced persistent security that delivers the network visibility and situational awareness that government agencies and private enterprises need to respond quickly and decisively to today’s advanced targeted attacks.”
