Solera Networks Strengthens Executive Team with Vice President of North American Sales

Former Oracle, Bit9 Executive Appointed to Build Sales and Channel Programs, Arming Customers with “DeepSee” Network Visibility, Security and Analysis Functionality for Intelligent Risk Mitigation
Salt Lake City, UT – November 10, 2011 – Solera Networks, the leading Network Security Analytics platform provider today announced the appointment of Rick Simmons, a well-regarded security and technology industry sales veteran, to the management team as vice president of North American sales. Simmons will guide the team responsible for the company’s recent triple digit sales growth, and enable the company to more effectively address customer and growth demands.

Simmons brings over 25 years of executive sales experience, leading several organizations to record revenue growth and worldwide expansion. Simmons comes to Solera Networks from Bit9 where he led Federal Government & Southeast area sales. Prior to that, he was vice president, North America sales at E2open where he oversaw the major account relationships and increased revenues 75 percent. He served as vice president of sales at Oracle where he was instrumental in directing the company’s strategy for becoming a market leader for enterprise infrastructure solutions. Rick also served as vice president of sales at Oblix, and held senior roles at Silicon Graphics and Apple Computer.
