Former Hewlett Packard, Websense and SonicWALL Industry Veteran Will Oversee Channel Programs and Expand Solera’s Footprint in EMEA

LONDON—June 19, 2012  Solera Networks, the industry’s leading, best-of-breed Security Intelligence and Analytics provider, announced today that it has appointed tech security veteran James Pattinson as vice president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division, reporting to Solera’s CEO. In his new role, London-based Pattinson will focus on expanding Solera’s presence in EMEA, growing sales and building channel programs and partnerships.

“Solera is expanding significantly in EMEA as we move to meet increased demand for our solutions, and we needed a proven executive to lead the region,” said Steve Shillingford, president and CEO. “We’re gratified that James has decided to join and contribute his vast experience and track record in high-growth security software companies. He brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this very important market.”

Pattinson has more than 25 years of experience working in the technology industry, specializing in high-tech security, networking and virtualization. He has been involved in sales, marketing and operations at large corporations, as well as start-up companies. Prior to joining Solera, he was United Kingdom sales director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise Security Services, where he was responsible for driving $250 million in revenue into enterprise organizations with a large portfolio of security products, managed services and consultancy. As United Kingdom sales director for SurfControl, Pattinson transformed the company’s operations from double-digit decline to double-digit growth prior to its sales to Websense. James also served as vice president EMEA for SonicWALL, where he successfully built the EMEA enterprise business through MSSPs, VARs and systems integrators.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to work with Solera and deliver the company’s big data security intelligence and analytics technology to a broader network of EMEA partners and customers,” said Pattinson. “Solera Networks is on the cutting-edge of security, as the market makes a major shift toward breach preparedness and a focus on those technologies that help them stay ahead of advanced attacks and malware through an entirely new method of detection. As a security industry veteran, I was drawn to Solera’s unique value proposition of automatically and accurately telling organizations and enterprises what APTs to look for, instead of the other way around.”
